Almost ready for Ireland...

Wow, I'm actually blogging twice in one month. I knew I would get better! In between planning other folks' trips, I have been been working frantically on our trip to Ireland. So far we have lodging for 20 of the 29 nights we will be gone (not counting our wonderful coach accommodations on Aer Lingus). I think we will "wing" the other nine, combining B&Bs with small hotels. I think it will be fun having a combination of preset plans plus a lot of room for flexibility and spontaneity.

I promise to write in this blog every time I can find internet access. I hope if you read this, especially during my Ireland adventure, that you will write a comment. I look forward to staying in touch with you.

Until we meet again in Ireland, be safe and happy travels.

A little embarrassing...

How could an entire summer have passed since my last blog entry. Yes, this is somewhat embarrassing. My husband and I did the "staycation" that everyone is talking about. As I mentioned in April, we spent the entire summer, here at home in Florida. I know that for my snowbird friends, that sounds like torture, but don't knock it until you've tried it. As I knew would be the case, the traffic was lighter, the gulf is warm (not that I've spent any time in it lately), restaurants are easy to get into (yes, I have spent a lot of time in those) and there is a general laid back feeling that you just can't experience during "season."

But my laid back plans are coming to an end soon, as my hubbie and I are planning a month-long trip to Ireland. I will be celebrating my birthday there, hopefully in a warm, friendly pub, enjoying a Guinness with new friends. I promise to write more on this blog during that time. I even invested in a Flip video camera, so if this technologically inept travel agent can figure it out, I will be posting some video from our trip.

Stay tuned, and remember, life is too short for bad vacations.
