I've always read how important it is to make your New Year's resolutions obtainable and realistic. Don't say you are going to lose 25 pounds by Feb. 1 or that you are never going to go a day without exercise. But how about a travel resolution? Have you ever thought about putting that on your list?
Resolve to take at least one fun trip in 2008, especially for you. Don't combine it with business, don't do it just for the kids. Think about your dream vacation -- anything from laying on the beach in Maui to wine tasting in Tuscany. If Tuscany isn't realistic this year, maybe you could go to California and explore the Napa or Sonoma wine regions. If Hawaii isn't in the '08 budget, how about a cruise to St. Thomas or visit the white sandy beaches of Florida?
There is literally something for everyone when it comes to travel. Sit down with your travel partner and start brainstorming. Narrow it down and then go talk to a travel agent. Let her know what you are looking for and make sure she is listening. A good travel agent will find what you are looking for, not try to sell you what is easiest or most profitible for her.
It's never too early to start planning, even if you are looking at the '08 holiday season. If you want help, please contact me at any time at Sue@uniquetravelplanners.com.
Life is too short for bad vacations.
